Keys Neuropsychology
Neuropsychological Assessment and Intervention
What is Neuropsychology?
Clinical Neuropsychologists specialise in the assessment of cognition (e.g., memory and reasoning skills) and behaviour. With expertise in brain structure and function, neuropsychologists understand how damage to the brain or issues with its development during childhood can affect how someone thinks, feels and behaves in their everyday life.
A neuropsychological assessment can help to measure the impact of these changes on an individual’s personal, academic and work life; information often required in order to access government support (e.g., NDIS). More importantly, a neuropsychological assessment can help you to better understand the unique profile of strengths and challenges that you or your child face everyday, and what you can do about it! At the end of the assessment process, our clients receive individually-tailored, evidence-based strategies and recommendations to help them to overcome these challenges and achieve their goals.
We provide neuropsychological assessment and intervention services to both adults and children. Please follow the link below for more details regarding our services.
Services
-
Adults
Neuropsychological assessments for adults can assist with diagnosis of many conditions affecting the brain (e.g., ADHD, autism, traumatic brain injury, drug/alcohol-related brain damage, Alzheimer’s disease).
An assessment will also help you to understand your cognitive strengths and challenges. We will provide you with evidence-based strategies and recommendations tailored to your circumstances so you can get back to doing the things you care about most.
Please contact the clinic directly to discuss any NDIS, WorkCover, TAC or medicolegal referrals.
-
Children
At Keys Neuropsychology, we understand every child is unique. We believe in the importance of using neuroaffirming language and practices when working with children and their families.
Neuropsychological assessments are crucial to the accurate diagnosis of certain conditions (e.g., Autism, ADHD, dyslexia or intellectual disability). While the diagnostic process can be confronting, it is often necessary for children to access much-needed government supports (e.g., NDIS). More importantly, an assessment will help you, your child and their teachers to better understand their unique strengths and challenges, ensuring they have the best opportunity to reach their potential in all areas of life.
